Event Description

Come and experience the freedom of expressing yourself through an interactive drumming community. Inspirem Community Drum Circle offers anyone a space for self expression, creativity, relaxation, connections, support and friendships.

Instruments provided in the session include: Djembe, Bongo, Darburka, Cajon, Hand Held Percussions, Boomwhackers and much more. Don’t forget body percussion and your voice! You’re more than welcomed to bring in any instruments from your own culture.

The INSPIREM Community Drum Circle is much more than simply drumming and playing music together. Inspirem Music believes the power of music to inspire, empower and transform individuals through musical interaction, where one can freely express themselves and to realize one's full potential regardless of abilities, skills and ages. 

Each session includes improvisational drumming, facilitated drumming, basic drumming lesson, drum circle game, self-reflection, sharing and discussion.

 

Anyone is welcomed, musician or non musician. Whether you have even touched a drum before or not, whether you have had musical training or not. No prior music experience required.

Esther Y.W.Wong
Music Therapist
Esther Y.W.Wong is a registered music therapist (HCPC, UK), multi-instrumentalist, music composer, music teacher based in Hong Kong. Initially trained as a composer in the University of Auckland, New Zealand where she received her bachelor degree in music majoring in composition. After graduating, she has been working as a composer, arranger and music teacher where she has discovered the transformative power of music which sparked off further pursue in the field of music therapy by obtaining the Postgraduate Diploma in Music Therapy at the University of Hong Kong and subsequently completed the Masters of Arts in Music Therapy degree at Anglia Ruskin University. She is passionate in bringing people together with the use of music, believing the power of music to inspire, empower and transform individuals through musical interaction, where one can freely express themselves and to realize one's full potential regardless of abilities, skills and ages.
